Official Opening of Landscape Photographer of the Year Exhibition
12th December 2011
Tuesday the 6th Dec.
I was delighted to attend the official opening of the LPOTY 2011 Exhibition taking place at The National Theatre in London.
What a night, the hall was just buzzing with excitement stoking up a great atmosphere for the evening.
The large crowd enjoyed the tremendous display of landscape images which had been superbly reproduced courtesy of the organisers "Take a View” and Epson.
The presentations were made by guest speakers, David Higgins, Chief Executive of Network Rail & Michele Channer, MD of Calumet Photographic
Jim Carter, known to millions as Mr Carson from Downton Abbey presented The Young LPOTY before going on to present myself with the LPOTY 2011 award.
It was most definitely a night I’ll always remember.

Landscape Photographer of the Year Award - Breaking News
23rd October 2011
Fantastic news, I’ve just heard that I've won the title “ Landscape Photographer of the Year 2011” in the Take a View competition. http://www.take-a-view.co.uk/
The other very good news is that the prize is £10,000 but don’t tell my wife!
An added bonus is that another one of my images "Hoar Frost", a monochrome, was awarded a "Commended".
Breakfast TV also featured the story this morning along with several other National Newspapers.
The Sunday Times edition of 23/10/2011 carries an item about the competition and I understand that Amateur Photographer will also have a feature in its publication due out on the 1st Nov.
The “Landscape Photographer of the Year – Collection 5” book is due to go on sale on from 31st Oct, and this will be followed by an exhibition of 100 prints at the National Theatre in London.
The exhibition will run from the 5th of Dec until the 28th Jan.
I look forward to the presentation which will take place at the private viewing of the exhibition on 6th Dec.
